A management manual to provide guidance on ECDIS use, with bridge procedures and organisation, including all applicable requirement for voyage planning, execution and monitoring with the use of ECDIS equipment providing the necessary guidelines for the safe use of the ship specific ECDIS for a number of navigational processes. The ECDIS manual is developed by taking also into account the manufacturer’s operational manual.
It contains an introduction (including cyber security process), how to use ECDIS (basic functions), ECDIS Settings, Chartroom Management, Familiarisation procedures (including tests and forms), Operational Procedures, Emergency Procedures (all contingencies), and Maintenance Procedures.

A comprehensive appendix section is included to guide OOW on various topics (e.g., T&P, AIO, Symbols, user guides). The plan is developed to be company’s and model ship specific.
