COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The course provides participants with the knowledge, understanding and proficiencies as required by the ISPS Code to undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities as Company Security Officer (CSO).

This course aims to equip designated personnel with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to perform the duties and assume the responsibilities of a Company Security Officer (CSO), as defined in section A/2.1.7 & A/11.2 of the ISPS Code

The course for Company Security Officer (CSO) is in accordance with the standard of competence as outlined in the Guidelines on Training and Certification for Company Security Officers issued as Annex of MSC/Circ.1154 and based on the IMO Model Course 3.20

This course aims to provide participants with:

Tools, methodologies and concerns to ensure effective implementation onboard of the Ship Security Plan and ways to conduct an efficient Ship Security Assessment, know how to maintain the conditions set forth in a ship security plan and know security-related contingency plans and the procedures for responding to security threats or breaches of security, including provisions for maintaining critical operations of the ship/port interface.
