NAVIGATIONAL PROCEDURES PLAN

Manual Details

The purpose of this Plan is to explain the essence of ship navigation in ocean waters and the role of navigational tools in ensuring a safe sail at the sea.

Its content is based on rules and regulations from various sources. Its structure follows IMO Regulation for Passage plan: Introduction, Bridge Organization, Departure, Passage Plan, Special Navigational Procedures, Chartroom Management, Bridge Equipment, Arrival and Pilotage.

A dedicated section with all the relevant regulatory references is provided. Each procedure is connected to a specific risk assessment. ECDIS procedures are provided in separate manual however, same can be incorporated in the existing plan.

Various handbooks can be provided to supplement these procedures or developed based on company’s knowledge management: e.g., anchoring procedures handbook, heavy weather handbook.
