IMO has issued on 24/12/2020 the MSC.1/Circ.1620 with subject the above. 

We do recommend same to be included in the Mooring system management plan (MSMP) Section 5 as an annex to this section. 

It contains recommendations for protection and storage of mooring line, control of mooring lines, inspection, and maintenance of mooring lines. 

Same can be used to enhance the mooring audit / checklist and provide guidance for enhancing the MSMP as applicable. 

We further recommend that PMS should consider this for the Mooring Arrangements instructions.
