Privacy Policy
This policy explains what happens to personal data when you use the Lemur Maritime website. It is written to reflect what this website actually does — nothing more.
Last updated: July 2026
Who is responsible for your data
Lemur Maritime is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
- Lemur Maritime

This policy covers this website. Our wider organisational commitments — including how we handle client and seafarer data in our consulting, audit and training work — are set out in our GDPR Data Protection Policy.
What we collect, and why
1. Enquiries you send us
When you use the contact form or any “Request” button on this site, we collect the details you enter: your name, company, work email address, optionally your fleet size and message, and which module or service your enquiry relates to. We also record the page you sent it from and your IP address, to help us prevent automated abuse of the form.
We use this solely to respond to you and to take the steps you have asked for. Enquiries are stored securely on this website and emailed to our team.
Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
2. Newsletter signup
If you subscribe to The Regulatory Digest we collect your email address, and use it only to send you that publication. You can unsubscribe at any time by contacting us.
Legal basis: your consent.
3. Technical logs
Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time). These are used to keep the site secure and available, and to diagnose faults.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security and reliability of the site.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website sets no cookies of its own, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not profile visitors, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
We store two small items in your browser’s local storage:
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
lm_cookie_consent |
Remembers whether you accepted or declined third-party content, so we don’t ask on every page | Until you clear it or change your choice |
lm_newsletter_email |
Remembers that you have already subscribed, so the signup form isn’t shown again | Until you clear it |
These stay in your browser. They are not sent to us for tracking, and they are not shared.
Fonts used on this site are served from our own servers, so displaying this page makes no request to Google Fonts or any other font provider.
Third-party content, and your choice
Some parts of this site can embed content from other companies. None of it loads until you accept — if you decline, or have not yet chosen, no request is made to these providers and they receive nothing about you.
| Provider | Used for | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Vimeo | The background film and the videos in our media section | Your IP address and device information; Vimeo may set its own cookies. See the Vimeo Privacy Policy. |
| Google Maps | The map showing our office location | Your IP address and device information; Google may set its own cookies. See the Google Privacy Policy. |
Legal basis: your consent. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
Our site also links out to LinkedIn, Facebook and our Lemur Suite application. Following those links takes you to services with their own privacy policies, which govern what happens there.
Who else can see your data
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. Personal data is handled on our behalf by:
- Our hosting provider, which operates the servers this website runs on.
- Our email provider, which delivers enquiry notifications and our replies.
- Vimeo and Google, but only for the embedded content described above, and only if you have accepted it.
We may also disclose data where we are legally required to do so.
Transfers outside the EEA
Our website and email are operated within our providers’ infrastructure. Where you have accepted third-party content, Vimeo and Google may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, under the safeguards those providers put in place (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework).
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: kept for as long as needed to deal with your request and for our records of the business relationship, then deleted.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs: kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then rotated automatically.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict how we use it;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests; and
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these, email info@lemurmaritime.com. We will respond within one month.
If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (Αρχή Προστασίας Δεδομένων Προσωπικού Χαρακτήρα), Kifissias 1–3, 115 23 Athens, tel. +30 210 6475600, www.dpa.gr.
Security
This site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to enquiry data is restricted to authorised personnel. We apply the technical and organisational measures described in our Cyber Security Policy.
Children
This website is aimed at maritime professionals and organisations. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data about them.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy at least annually, and whenever the website changes in a way that affects personal data. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
